Michael Austin is a multi-industry marketing/public relations consultant. He has developed promotion and new business programming for management consulting, legal, financial, high tech, health & medical, wholesale/retail, engineering, construction, education, and non-profit firms. He has consulted to major advertising, marketing and PR firms, contributing strategic positioning, business-to-business media relations, major placement in major media and investor relations.

Career highlights include positioning a management consulting practice as a top-tier business resource and a business book promotion to national bestseller status. Austin served as public relations/public affairs director of a national medical practice where he increased revenues 400% by conceiving and implementing a communications program that gained broad professional and public exposure in scientific journals, consumer press, and on commercial radio and TV. Responsible for the public relations program for global and multi-national corporations, Austin helped establish image and investor relation campaigns for domestic and international businesses.

Austin is a former VP at Edelman Worldwide, the world’s largest independent PR firm, where he helped establish its high-tech practice division. He served as vice-chairman of programs for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). As a writer and editor, he has contributed to leading domestic and international trade journals. He is a graduate of the State University of New York.

Apart from his professional secular career, Austin currently serves as the national spokesperson for the Christian History magazine for which he has served as a communications consultant and Christian commentator, sought for a variety of subjects by leading Radio talk shows and news broadcasts carried on the Salem Radio Network, USA Radio Network, and others. Austin encountered ‘New Age’ philosophies and studied Yoga/Hindu meditation prior to converting to Faith in Jesus Christ in the early 2000s. Prior to coming to Faith in Christ, he studied mind-control methods and helped families recover children from Hindu and other Guru cults. His experience within various faith traditions has informed his unique perspective of the modern Christian church and its historical roots. Austin, now a student of the Bible and Biblical history, offers a fresh view, based upon modern education theory, world history and a Biblical worldview, relative to topical events and trends.

Austin speaks about Church history, Christian movements, the New Age and Yoga and at churches and for para-church organizations. He was a speaker at the 2014 annual Religion Newswriters Association conference in Atlanta, GA, where he spoke about the history of persecution as practiced by religions and political institutions. Austin is the founder the communications ministry, Publish The Good News, and continues to write and consultant for business, professional services firms, and ministries.
