The theme of this issue of Areopagus Journal is “Extreme Eschatology.” I realize that many Christians are not familiar with the term “eschatology.” It is an area of theology that is seldom addressed or formally taught in many segments of the church. Eschatology is the “doctrine of last things.” The Articles in this issue of the Areopagus include Veritas: Extreme Eschatology by Craig Branch; What is the Future of Ultra-Dispensationalism? by Donald E. Hartley; Is This It? A Response to Hyper-Preterism by Samuel E. Wadron and Steven B. Cowan; Postmillennialism: A Little Optimistic or Slippery Slope to Dangerous Error? by Brandon Robbins; Will the World End Next Year? An Assessment of the Mayan Calendar Prophecy by Clete Hux.
